Is Nationalism Relevant anymore.

Is it good thing or we should move beyond it. Even if we want to move beyond it.. can we..

However, there is nothing wrong in trying..

What really drives nationalism.. is it racism? or religion? or cast? or ethnicity? I think there are different factors which create nations and hence nationalism.. most common is ethnicity.. However, India is best example of Nationalism beyond ethnicity.. there was different factor which caused bad nationalism in India where it should have been 20 different countries. I think we can attribute it first to Moguls and then to Britishers to create India. otherwise it would have been 15-20 different countries..

What about USA.. I think it was mainly feudalism in Europe.. People were fed up with old world and they wanted to create something new.. I have limited knowledge aout American history and this is based on 4th grade Parent's guide ;-) in the end.. even here it is racism and religion.. which trumps ultimate politics..

Europe.. mainly ethnicity and hence language..

South America.. is it local tribes and hence ethnicity..

China.. Some kind of revolution..

Japan.. Pure ethnicity.. don't know if there are any other race or language in Japan..

Africa.. race or ethnicity.. or may be something similar to India.. Colonization..

Middle east... tribes.. religion..

Looking at them.. most of them looks foundation of evil or war or fight..

So broadly speaking in general.. Nationalism is based on flawed concepts.. so we should get rid of it.. It is literally impossible.. UN is example of beyond nationalism.. I haven't seen any direct benefit of UNO or something similar..

Is there any benefit of Nationalism.. I can't think.. except for it is root cause of wars and destruction..

What is alternative.. nothing I can't think of.. there are very few examples of World Leader..May be Alexander.. who tried to conquer the world.. How about EU.. is it doing any good or creating any better brotherhood between different countries..

So Nationalism is still relevant.. it was wrong title. but we really need it.. may be not.. however, without viable alternative we will have to live with it..
